Meet Daniel Long, Trainee Solicitor
Where did you study: Reading University and then University of Law Bristol
Foot Anstey office location: Bristol
Seats: Property Litigation, Planning, Commercial Property, Corporate, Islamic Finance
What appealed to you about Foot Anstey?
What really struck me about Foot Anstey was the impressive year-on-year growth figures, its fast rises in legal directory rankings and impressive client base within the corporate/commercial and real estate areas.
What has the highlight of your trainee contract been so far?
During my commercial property seat I was quite heavily involved in assisting with an exchange of contracts in record time for a London based investment company on the sale of a large student development site. The purchaser's initial offer, through to negotiation and exchange of contracts all happened within 36 hours and took a real team effort to juggle capacities, diaries and dealing with funders and an offshore investor.
What do you like about the culture at Foot Anstey?
There is some big ticket work which obviously has time demands but it is balanced incredibly well with a relaxed and approachable atmosphere across the open plan offices and there is no 'face time culture' regarding hours.
How has Foot Anstey helped you grow your career?
I was a paralegal here before starting the training contract which was a great experience as you sit with the fee earners and play an important role in the team.
